Remember that one time...

When I had a blog and updated it...me too. In my last post I just had arrived home and my cousin Ashley was leaving for China...now I am about to leave for school again and Ash will be home at the end of this month! I can't believe how fast this break went for me. As sad as it is to say it (and this is the first time I have said this) I cannot wait to go back to Idaho! I am just ready to start my last year of school and I am especially excited to be moving into a brand new place with Oosh and have a car up there with me for the first time. I also miss my roommates, like whoa. Even though we won't be living together this semester, I cannot be away from them any longer...in fact, it is disgusting being related to them. (that's for your Samantha, dear).
Ok...so what have I been up to? Good question. NOTHING. All I do is go to work, come home, play with friends (sometimes), then go to bed. I really haven't done anything too spectacular. Wait, in the beginning of October, Kim and I went on a road trip to Utah to visit friends and family and go to the BYU football game. I would show you pictures but I never uploaded the pictures from my camera that is now M.I.A. It was super fun though. We sat three bleachers up from the 10 yard line...we were so close! On the plus side of my missing camera, I got a brand new one! I love new things. Let's see, in November Lauren came out from Utah to come visit for Thanksgiving. That was a fun, busy week. Now it is December (as you are all well aware I am sure) and the best thing that has happened so far is my bff&e, Kate the great, came back home from her internship in Maine, and the best part about it all is that we went out to Mongolian BBQ! (below is a picture of me and Kate, I wish I had more but I this is from my new camera...)

All in all, the best thing I have accomplished since I have been home is cleaning out my closet! It is super organized! I even have room for ALL my jackets, which were previously stored in my Dad’s closet. It feel’s amazing! Organization is such a blessing!

P.S. I love my dog...he is such a stud (literally!) He as a total of 17 living puppies now! What a champ.

Home Sweet Home

AUGUST

So, it has been a while. I have been in sunny Cal-i-forn-i-a for over a month now, almost two. As soon as I got home from Idaho, I went to Oregon for a Dungan Family Reunion in Bend. I had lots of fun, but really missed most of the cousins my age, namely Elise, Austin, and Lauren. It was weird not getting in trouble at all this reunion, it’s harder to do with just two of us. Oh well, we will all hopefully be available for the next reunion in 2012.

Here is a pic from this past reunion, we just hiked into the center of the earth via a lava tube.(I choose this one for you April, see Oosh and I take pictures with you!)

I also was lucky enough to start a job right when I got home from the reunion at an insurance agency with my cousin Jaime, whom I love working with. Also, I get to babysit pretty Leila twice a week, whom I also love working with. I can’t to decide you can be the bigger brat at times.. ..Jaime or Leila. Haha.

Also in August, I turned 22. My friends Maddy, Kim, and Lauren were nice enough to throw me a surprise slumber party. Thanks girls!!

My friends Eric and Chris were nice enough to put this together for me. I felt the love. Thanks boys!birthday

The last major event in August is that my bff cousin Oosh left me for China. I guess that’s cool, but I miss her. Hopefully we will be roomies this coming semester at BYU-Idaho (cross your fingers everything works out for Ashley!)

SEPTEMBER

The most notable thing so far to happen in September is that I have fallen in love with Justin Bieber and I am ok with that. I also have converted my friend, Kim, to loving a 16 yo. There is nothing wrong with us. The only music I listen to now is purely just Justin Bieber, I am a better and happier person because of it.

I also was invited to join a fantasy football league at work. I have no idea what I am doing, all I know is after this week I am currently 3rd, go Team Belieber!!!

Yes, I have a shirt. No, I am not ashamed to wear it in public.

The Longest Post Ever! (Probably)

It has been a whillllllee since I have posted anything. Here is what I have been up to:

At the end of June I went to SLC to the art festival with Andrew and Lauren, it was interesting. That Saturday I flew in to San Diego to meet with my parents and meet my adorable niece, Kaya Rene’ Wright, for the first time. I love her btw. I also got to see my big brother for the first time in a year and meet his beautiful girlfriend, Gwen. I like her, too.

The  next weekend was a three day weekend (GO USA!!) My roommates and I went to Idaho Falls for the best firework show in the west (that is a lie, but it is an enjoyable show) We showed up 7 hours early so we had time for plenty of adventure, like making smores with a lighter (we are nifty people).

Almost caught up..

This past weekend I tried to go bridge jumping with my main man Justin freakin’ Larson. He jumped, I didn’t. Let me defend myself.

1. A HUGE lightning storm made me less likely to jump and I have bruises from the raindrops.spring 2010 119

2. I didn’t mentally prepare myself for this enormous bridge...I jumped out of a plane, I should be able to do anything, wrong.

But later that day I plunged into the Snake River with Alena. Swam to the next dock and got out and left.

Ok, now we are caught up to THIS WEEK!!

Rexburg had a little dress rehearsal for the second coming earlier this week. It started around 4pm with the heavy wind pushing a HUGE cloud towards us. Hours later we were informed that there was a huge wildfire. Here are the pictures:

There. The longest post ever has come to a close! It will probably be a while before I post again, dang finals and moving! See you in sunny Cal-i-forn-i-a!!

a slice of my cake experience

This weekend I was able to go to the CAKE concert with my cousin LJ and my friend Gigs. I had a blast! The weather was perfect and it was nice to finally enjoy summer with an outside concert. Before the concert, we went to a cafe called One World. The mission of this cafe is to end world hunger. That is a hefty mission, but they are approaching it the right way. It is set up like a community kitchen, they grow and make the food at their location. There are no set prices, only suggested prices and you choose the portions so there is no waste. ALL your money goes directly to charity. I first thought the cafe sounded a little sketch...but I turned out to be really impressed with the whole thing. Anyways, back to CAKE. I love them. I love John McCrae's voice (singing or talking). I love their "anti-machine" attitudes. I love them madly... (ok, that was cheesy. but I like them a lot.)

It was also my MOM's 50th Birthday!! That is a HALF a century folks! My mom is my best friend and I am grateful for her and everything she does for me. She is truly an elect woman and a blessing in everyone's life. I love her. (more than CAKE) As, fifty cent (how appropriate) would say...I love you like a fat kid loves cake. (also very fitting for my weekend) Happy Birthday, Mom!

to be or not to be?

So I have been struggling with this decision for about a month now and I just cannot decide what to do. So I have left it up to you to decide for me. Here is the question: Should I cut my hair short again, or let it continue to grow out?

To help with your decision I have posted some pictures of me with both do's.

Something Cool & Funny

Where to begin...

After my school day was over, 2 tests aced, and my room vacuumed, I headed to Lauren's apt. We had a delicious half pepperoni and half pineapple pizza from Domino's. It must be said, their new crust knows what's up, it was the most tasty crust in my college budget. Also, Domino's is as old as my Mom!!

Go Mom!!! We also realized that our friend has been engaged twice before we have even had a bfriend...this made us laugh and start to joke about things like "remember how Ramy Calvinsen got engaged twice before I tried Domino's new crust?" or "before I graduated college" DISCLAIMER: We are only making fun of our own pathetic lives and not our dear friend.

Anyways...

While I was walking home in the cold, daydreaming about an attractive California native with a heater, would pull over and offer me a ride home and then we would date for 7 months and then we would get married after a 4 month engagement....something better happened! As I was walking awkwardly across the cross walk (a car was waiting on me, that is probably the most uncomfortable situation as a pedestrian) I heard my name being yelled. I look up and my two roommates (and friends) were waving me into the middle of the road to get in the car. What made this even more awesome??? Rockin out to Party in the USA on your way to Dairy Queen. SCORE!

So here is the skinny about Dairy Queen...

1. It doesn't make you skinny
2. It is a crusher of dreams
3. DQ literally throws your dreams in the trash

To be clear, 2 & 3 do not apply to me, but sadly to my dear roommate Samantha. Oh, Samantha. Your heartbreak made me cry...with laughter! As we were leaving with our barely touched blizzards in hand, Samantha sets her blizzard on the wallet being held by her left hand and goes to throw away her receipt. As she is tossing the paper into the trash, her arms catches the tall spoon handle, which makes her blizzard flip right into the trashcan. Samantha's face portrayed her aw and disbelief, which is why this made Alena and I bust into laughter. Samantha joined in once the shock was gone. Something cool--Samantha's blizzard, something funny--Samantha's blizzard making the jump to the trash can. I know, I am pretty cleaver.
Samantha and I during happier times when ice cream stays in your hand.
